BRS to Question Government on ‘Six Guarantees’ During Assembly Session
Opposition Prepares to Raise Key Issues
Kranthi Shekar - MAR 17, 2026

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has decided to strongly challenge the state government during the upcoming session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly. The party leadership announced that its legislators will question the ruling administration about the promises made to voters before the elections.
Senior BRS leader K. T. Rama Rao stated that the opposition intends to bring several public issues into discussion inside the Assembly, especially focusing on the government’s election commitments commonly referred to as the “Six Guarantees.”
Focus on Election Promises
According to KTR, the Six Guarantees were presented as major welfare initiatives designed to support different sections of society, including women, farmers, and economically weaker families. The opposition party believes that these promises should be implemented quickly and effectively as they were a key part of the election campaign.
BRS leaders have indicated that they will demand clear explanations from the government about the progress of these guarantees. They plan to seek details about the steps taken so far and the timeline for delivering these promised benefits to the public.
Demand for Greater Accountability
The opposition has also suggested that these welfare commitments should be supported by clear policy decisions and accountability. Party leaders argue that once such promises are made to the public, the government has a responsibility to ensure they are carried out without delay.
By raising these issues in the Assembly, BRS hopes to highlight what it sees as gaps between promises and implementation. The party believes that discussions in the legislative forum are necessary to ensure transparency and proper governance.
Concerns About Welfare and Agriculture
Apart from the Six Guarantees, the opposition plans to address other matters affecting the people of the state. Welfare schemes, support for farmers, and financial assistance programs are expected to be part of the debate.
BRS leaders have stated that the concerns of farmers and rural communities will also be highlighted during the Assembly session. They argue that agriculture and rural development should remain a major focus of government policy.
Expectations of Intense Assembly Debate
With the Assembly session approaching, political observers expect strong exchanges between the ruling party and the opposition. As one of the major political forces in the state, the BRS is likely to use the Assembly platform to question the government’s performance and push for fulfillment of its election commitments.
The issue of the Six Guarantees is expected to dominate discussions in the House. Through these debates, the opposition aims to keep public welfare issues at the center of the political conversation and hold the government accountable for the promises made to voters.
