He completed his primary and secondary schooling in his native village before moving to Warangal urban centers to pursue his higher education.

Long before entering the state legislative assembly, Sudarshan Reddy established himself as a dedicated, accessible community worker who focused intensely on the daily challenges facing farming households, particularly regarding irrigation access, local employment, rural road infrastructure, and agricultural credit.

His formal entry into organized politics began at the local grass-roots level. He initially served as the Youth President for Nallabelli mandal, followed by administrative involvement as the Block Congress President in Duggondi mandal.

These early organizational roles allowed him to build a direct, personal rapport with rural families across the region. However, when K. Chandrashekar Rao launched the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in April 2001 to reignite the movement for a separate Telangana state, Sudarshan Reddy recognized a historic turning point.

Serving as Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman from 2016 to 2018, Sudarshan Reddy modernized grain procurement and public distribution systems across the state. He spearheaded the implementation of real-time digital tracking mechanisms at paddy collection centers, eliminated administrative delays, expanded public distribution coverage, and coordinated efforts to ensure that regional farmers received their minimum support price payments without unnecessary friction.
