Political tensions in Telangana intensified after BRS leader Padi Kaushik Reddy launched a strong attack on Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar and challenged him to face BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao in an open public debate.

Addressing the media, Kaushik Reddy accused Bandi Sanjay of repeatedly making statements against KTR while remaining soft on the Congress government in Telangana. He alleged that the BJP leader was deliberately targeting the BRS leadership instead of questioning the ruling administration on issues affecting the public.

The BRS MLA claimed there appeared to be a political understanding between certain BJP and Congress leaders in the state. According to him, both parties were attempting to weaken the BRS by continuously attacking KTR and other senior party leaders.
