Milk Prices Increased in Andhra Pradesh as Vijaya and Sangam Dairies Announce New Rates
Higher procurement and operational costs lead to milk price hike across several districts
Kranthi Shekar - APR 2, 2026

Milk prices in Andhra Pradesh have gone up after Vijaya Dairy and Sangam Dairy announced a revision in their rates. The increase is expected to impact households across multiple districts, as both dairies play a key role in supplying milk to a large number of consumers.
Vijaya Dairy has reportedly raised milk prices by ₹2 per litre. The revised rates are set to come into effect in several regions, including Krishna, NTR, and Eluru districts. The price revision applies to different categories of milk, which means consumers purchasing regular and premium variants will see an increase in their daily expenses. However, those who have already purchased monthly milk subscription cards may continue to receive milk at existing prices for a limited time.
Sangam Dairy Also Announces Price Revision
Sangam Dairy has also implemented a similar price hike, with revised rates coming into effect earlier this week. Depending on the category and packaging, milk prices have increased by around ₹1 to ₹2. The decision reflects the growing pressure faced by dairy operators due to rising operational costs.
The hike applies to multiple milk variants supplied by the dairy, which are widely consumed in various districts. As a result, consumers relying on packaged milk from these dairies are expected to feel the impact immediately.
Rising Costs Behind the Price Hike
The increase in milk prices is largely attributed to higher procurement costs paid to dairy farmers. In addition, transportation charges, feed costs, and other production expenses have also increased. Dairy operators say these factors made the price revision necessary to maintain smooth supply and ensure fair compensation for farmers.
Impact on Consumers
Milk is a daily essential in most households, and even a small increase in price can affect monthly budgets. With both Vijaya and Sangam dairies revising rates around the same time, families across Andhra Pradesh may see a noticeable rise in their overall expenses.
While the price hike may create some burden for consumers, the move is expected to benefit dairy farmers by ensuring better procurement rates and supporting milk production in the long run.
