Red Fort Blast Mystery Deepens: Lucknow Doctors Under the Scanner as Police Unravel Shocking Links

The investigation into the recent Red Fort blast in Delhi has taken a dramatic turn, with the police tracing critical leads to Lucknow. In a surprising twist, a woman doctor and her brother - both medical professionals - have been taken into custody for questioning after investigators found possible links between them and the suspected terror module behind the explosion.

From Delhi Blast Site to Lucknow Doorsteps

Following the powerful explosion near the Red Fort Metro station that rattled Delhi, security agencies initiated a massive joint probe involving the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Jammu & Kashmir Police. As part of this operation, two doctors from Lucknow - Dr. Shaheen Shahid Ansari and her brother Dr. Parvez Ansari - were detained for interrogation.

According to officials, both had worked in various medical institutions across northern India. Investigators raided their Lucknow home, seizing digital devices, SIM cards, laptops, travel tickets, and personal documents that may provide vital clues in tracing their connection to the suspected network.

Suspects Linked to Faridabad Medical College

Initial reports reveal that Dr. Shaheen was employed at the Al-Falah School of Medical Sciences and Research Centre in Faridabad. This institution has recently come under scrutiny as multiple people with alleged links to the Red Fort case were associated with it. Her brother Parvez, also a doctor, had been staying in Lucknow and managing family matters while keeping in close contact with his sister.

Investigators believe that the suspects may have been part of a wider interstate module, with operations possibly spanning Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Jammu & Kashmir. Authorities have not yet confirmed their direct involvement but have placed them under strict surveillance while forensic experts examine the seized evidence.

Raids, Interrogations, and a Trail of Digital Clues

A joint ATS-J&K team conducted late-night raids in two key locations - the Kandhari Bazaar area of Old Lucknow and a rented apartment near the city outskirts. Sources said the teams recovered several mobile devices, encrypted files, and travel itineraries. These are now being analyzed to determine whether the suspects coordinated with anyone linked to the explosion or handled finances related to it.

Officials have hinted at the possibility that money transfers and encrypted communications played a major role in the planning and logistics of the Red Fort incident.

Family in Shock, Denies Any Involvement

The arrests have left the Ansari family devastated. Speaking to reporters, Shaheen and Parvez’s father said he was “completely shocked” to hear of their detention. He insisted that his children were law-abiding professionals and had “no connection whatsoever with any unlawful activity.” He further added that the last conversation with his daughter was over a month ago, regarding hospital duties.

Blast Investigation Still Unfolding

The Red Fort blast, which occurred just meters away from the metro station entrance, has been classified as a terror-linked explosion by central agencies. The explosion killed and injured several people, prompting nationwide alerts. Delhi Police, working alongside multiple state ATS units, are now focusing on uncovering whether the Lucknow link represents a key operational hub or a sleeper contact chain.

Heightened Security and Ongoing Probes

In light of these developments, police forces across major Indian cities have been put on high alert, especially near heritage sites and transportation hubs. Additional security checks have been implemented at airports, railway stations, and key public places.

Meanwhile, the forensic analysis of the seized devices and communications data is expected to reveal more about the terror network’s reach. Investigators are confident that the ongoing interrogation will soon clarify whether the detained individuals played an active or indirect role in the Delhi explosion.

The Bigger Picture

This case underscores a growing challenge for Indian security agencies - the rise of non-traditional suspects involved in radical networks, including highly educated individuals. As the investigation unfolds, authorities are expected to make further arrests and possibly expose a larger, interstate terror framework that may have been operating silently across multiple cities.
