India Women Rewrite Record Books With 221 In 4th T20i Against Sri Lanka
Kranthi Shekar - FEB 14, 2026

India Women produced a dominant batting display in the fourth T20 International against Sri Lanka Women, posting a mammoth 221 for 2, the highest total ever scored by India Women in Women’s T20 International cricket. The innings turned into a record-shattering effort as multiple milestones were achieved in a single night.
The foundation of the historic total was laid by openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma, who stitched together a breathtaking 162-run opening partnership. The stand now stands as the highest partnership for any wicket by India Women in T20 Internationals, showcasing a perfect blend of timing, power and aggressive intent. Both batters dominated the bowling from the outset, ensuring India raced to one of the fastest team starts in the format.
With the platform firmly set, the middle order added quick runs to push the total beyond the 220 mark — a rare achievement in women’s T20 cricket. Notably, the innings featured sustained scoring throughout, despite the absence of an individual century.
Sri Lanka Women responded positively in the chase, posting a strong 191 for 6, making the match one of the highest aggregate run contests in Women’s T20I history. However, the target proved too steep, and India sealed a convincing 30-run victory.
