Opposition Has Right to Question Government: Perni Nani

Former Andhra Pradesh minister and YSRCP leader Perni Nani has once again targeted the state government while raising concerns about issues faced by farmers. During a recent political interaction, Perni Nani questioned whether asking the government to address farmers’ problems should be treated as a mistake. His comments quickly triggered fresh political debate in Andhra Pradesh, especially at a time when agricultural issues continue to remain sensitive across the state.

Perni Nani strongly argued that opposition leaders have every right to question the government whenever farmers face difficulties. According to him, raising concerns about crop losses, support prices, irrigation, and financial struggles should not be viewed politically, but rather as a responsibility toward the farming community. He suggested that farmers are facing uncertainty in several regions and deserve immediate attention from the administration.

The senior YSRCP leader accused the ruling government of failing to respond properly to agricultural concerns and claimed that people connected to farming are becoming increasingly disappointed. He stated that whenever opposition parties question the government over public issues, attempts are made to divert attention instead of addressing the actual problems. His remarks appeared to focus on what he described as the growing gap between promises and ground-level realities.

Perni Nani also criticized the political atmosphere in the state, alleging that voices questioning the administration are being unnecessarily targeted. He maintained that democracy gives opposition parties the right to demand accountability, especially on matters affecting ordinary people. According to him, speaking on behalf of farmers should never become controversial because agriculture remains the backbone of the state’s economy.

The comments gained attention because Andhra Pradesh politics has recently witnessed intense exchanges between ruling and opposition leaders over development, welfare programs, and farmer-related issues. Agriculture continues to be one of the most emotionally connected subjects in the state, and political leaders often use such discussions to strengthen their connection with rural voters.

During his remarks, Perni Nani attempted to project the YSRCP as a party standing with farmers and rural communities. He argued that public representatives should focus on solving issues rather than turning every criticism into a political confrontation. His statements were seen as an attempt to challenge the government’s handling of agricultural matters and reinforce the opposition’s role in questioning policies.

Political observers believe the issue may continue generating reactions because farmer-related discussions always carry strong emotional and political impact in Andhra Pradesh. Rural communities play a major role in the state’s political landscape, and parties often compete aggressively to position themselves as farmer-friendly.

Supporters of Perni Nani praised his comments, saying opposition leaders must continue highlighting public issues without fear. However, ruling party supporters reportedly dismissed the allegations and defended the government’s efforts toward welfare and agricultural development. As expected, the issue quickly turned into another round of political confrontation between both sides.

Over the years, Perni Nani has built a reputation for his aggressive political style and sharp criticism of opponents. Even after stepping down from ministerial responsibilities, he has remained active in political debates and media interactions. His latest comments once again placed him at the center of Andhra Pradesh political discussions.

The debate surrounding farmers’ welfare, government accountability, and opposition criticism is likely to continue in the coming days, especially as political activity in the state becomes more intense ahead of future electoral battles. For now, Perni Nani’s remarks have once again brought farmer-related concerns into the political spotlight.
